Ep 11. The Angie-Man

In Single Parents season 2 episode 11, titled "The Angie-Man," Angie finds herself in an awkward position when she starts dating a guy who turns out to be the "Angie-Man," a superhero that the kids at school are obsessed with. Meanwhile, Poppy and Douglas deal with their feelings for each other and whether or not they should pursue a relationship.

The episode kicks off with Angie (Leighton Meester) going on a date with a guy named Paul (played by Andy Ridings), who seems like a nice, normal guy. However, things take a turn when she discovers that Paul is actually the Angie-Man, a superhero who dresses up in a ridiculous costume and patrols the streets of Los Angeles fighting crime. Angie is initially turned off by this revelation, but decides to give him another chance when she sees how much her son Graham (Tyler Wladis) loves the Angie-Man.

As Angie tries to navigate her relationship with Paul, she begins to realize that dating a superhero isn't as easy as she thought it would be. Paul is constantly getting called away to fight crime, and he's not exactly subtle about his alter ego. The other parents at school start to take notice, and they begin to gossip about Angie's new man.

Meanwhile, Poppy (Kimrie Lewis) and Douglas (Brad Garrett) continue to grapple with their feelings for each other. After sharing a kiss in the previous episode, they're both unsure about whether or not they should pursue a relationship. Poppy is worried about how her ex-husband Ron (played by guest star Rob Huebel) will react, while Douglas is concerned about the impact a relationship could have on the group dynamic.

Throughout the episode, Poppy and Douglas have a number of heart-to-heart conversations, where they try to figure out what they really want. Ultimately, they both realize that they have strong feelings for each other, and they decide to give a relationship a shot. However, their happiness is short-lived when Ron shows up unexpectedly, throwing a wrench in their plans.

As the episode comes to a close, Angie and Paul's relationship hits a bit of a snag when Angie realizes that she's not really all that attracted to him. Meanwhile, Poppy and Douglas are forced to deal with the fallout from Ron's surprise visit. Overall, "The Angie-Man" is another enjoyable episode of Single Parents, with plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments to go around.
