Ep 13. A Music Lover's Europe

In the season 4 finale of Smart Travels with Rudy Maxa, viewers are taken on a musical tour of Europe, exploring the many different genres and traditions that have thrived in various countries throughout the centuries. The episode begins in Seville, Spain, where Rudy visits a museum dedicated to flamenco, the passionate and emotional dance originating from Andalusia. Along the way, Rudy takes in the city's architectural treasures, such as the stunning Schoenbrunn Palace and the opulent Hofburg Palace.

Heading north to Salzburg, Rudy explores the city where Mozart was born and visits the famous music school where the young prodigy first learned to play. He also attends a traditional Austrian folk music concert, where he hears all sorts of instruments, including the accordion, zither, and cowbells. The next stop on the music tour of Europe is Venice, Italy, where Rudy takes a gondola ride through the city's canals, visiting the historic Fenice Theater and meeting with members of the Venice Symphony Orchestra.

Continuing the Italian leg of the journey, Rudy heads to Florence, the birthplace of opera. He visits the Uffizi Gallery to view paintings of famous composers before touring the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, one of Italy's most prestigious opera houses. In Rome, Rudy marvels at the architecture and art of the Vatican before attending a performance by the Sistine Chapel Choir, whose haunting harmonies have been a fixture of the Catholic Church for centuries.

The final stop on the music tour of Europe is Paris, the City of Light and one of the world's great cultural centers. Rudy visits the Opera Garnier, the stunning building that served as the inspiration for Gaston Leroux's Phantom of the Opera. He then travels to the famous Moulin Rouge to experience the city's famous cabaret scene first-hand.
