In South Park: Year of the Fan season 1 episode 4, titled "Medicinal Fried Chicken," the town of South Park is divided over the opening of a new medicinal marijuana dispensary called "Medicinal Fried Chicken" owned by a man named Randy Marsh. The dispensary quickly becomes the hottest spot in town with a constant stream of customers, making Randy a wealthy man.

When the town's KFC restaurant is shut down due to a zoning ordinance, Randy sees an opportunity to expand his business by adding the popular fast food to his dispensary's menu. However, the increased traffic and decreasing property values from the dispensary cause concern for some of the town's residents, including the boys' parents.

In an attempt to shut down the dispensary, the town enlists the help of the federal government's "Drug Enforcement Administration" to raid "Medicinal Fried Chicken," but Randy outsmarts the authorities and moves his operation to a nearby sovereign Native American land.

The episode explores the hot-button topic of medicinal marijuana and highlights the conflicting attitudes towards the drug. It also satirizes the government's inconsistent and often hypocritical stance on marijuana, as well as the public's willingness to embrace the drug for medicinal purposes.

As with most South Park episodes, "Medicinal Fried Chicken" contains its fair share of adult humor and satire, featuring characters like Towelie and the ever-present Eric Cartman. The episode ultimately serves as a thought-provoking examination of the complex issues surrounding medical marijuana legalization, while still providing plenty of laughs along the way.
