Ep 7. Nevada Day, Part I

On Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip season 1 episode 7 titled "Nevada Day, Part I," the team at NBS is preparing to broadcast a live show from Las Vegas in honor of Nevada Day. Harriet, who hails from Texas, is excited to get back to her Southern roots and show off her singing skills with a rendition of "Orange Blossom Special." Meanwhile, Matt and Danny are on a mission to recruit a big-name actor to appear on the show in order to boost ratings.

As they make their way to a meeting with the actor's representatives, Danny confesses to Matt that he has a secret gambling problem and owes nearly $90,000 to a Las Vegas casino. Matt agrees to help him out, and the two concoct a plan to win back Danny's debt. However, their plan goes awry when they end up losing even more money.

Back at the studio, Jordan begins to suspect that Danny and Matt are up to something when she notices their shady behavior. Meanwhile, Simon is tasked with coaching Tom on his interviewing skills, but the two clash when Simon's blunt criticism goes too far. And in a heartfelt moment, Harriet opens up to Matt about her struggles as a Christian in the entertainment industry.

As the episode comes to a close, tensions rise as Danny and Matt's gambling debt becomes more and more pressing, and Harriet's performance is threatened by a last-minute change to the script. "Nevada Day, Part I" sets the stage for a dramatic and thrilling conclusion in the next episode.
