Sunday Night Baseball

Add to Watchlist

Sunday Night Baseball presents a major league baseball game weekly on the all sports channel ESPN. Every Sunday since 1990, the network provides its viewing audience with a game, that generally offers teams in playoff contention. There has been a long list of announcers, and ex-ball players that have been commentators on the program. Presently, Dan Shulman runs the play by play, former Philadelphia Phillies great John Kruk completes the commentary, and Buster Olney provides the side line color commentary.

Through out the night, each announcer will cover the baseball news of the day, including final scores from earlier games, injury news, and items relevant to the game they are broadcasting. During lulls in the game, the broadcast will cut away to the ESPN studios, to provide viewers highlights from games completed earlier.

In addition during the broadcast, graphics will be provided that outline differing statistics that the viewer may find of interest. Graphics such as prior performance data on a player, and current win and loss standings of every division in Major League Baseball. A recent add has been a ball and strike locator box on the lower right of the screen. The viewer can view whether or not the umpire has accurately called each pitch by noting where the ball is located on the target strike box.
