Takayuki Utsumi (Shigeyuki Totsugi) is a 42-year-old salesman. A year ago, he was transferred to the sales department, but he is always at the bottom of the sales pyramid. What keeps him going, is ditching work and going to the "Sento" (bath house) during the day, on weekdays.
He cannot stay away from the bath houses, once he sees one. Once inside the bath... there awaits a little piece of heaven.

Takayuki Utsumi (Shigeyuki Totsugi) is a 42-year-old salesman. He is visiting a Japanese confectionary store, and lands a large order. On his way back to the office, a French woman asks him for the way to the Jakotsuyu Bath. Jakotsuyu Bath is an old bath house that was established in the Edo Period. As he soaks in the bath, he shouts out "Ah, I feel so guilty."

Takayuki Utsumi (Shigeyuki Totsugi) is a 42-year-old salesman. He is asked to hand out the ads that he made for a beauty parlor, and heads to the station. There, he finds a sign board for a "Sento," but just about stops himself for heading there... when he gets a call from the manager of the beauty parlor who places an additional order. He decides to treat himself to a little bath time.

Takayuki Utsumi (Shigeyuki Totsugi) is a 42-year-old salesman. He has just finished visiting a clock store, where he learns from the owner that "the value of time depends on how one spends it." On his way back to the station, he eavesdrops on a couple talking about stopping by a "Sento" with a bath made of Japanese cypress. He cannot stop his feet from heading there.

He cannot help but to check it out. Yoshida Bath was founded in 1879, and it is the last hot spring facility remaining in the area. Takayuki soaks in the bath thinking about the flow of time...

Takayuki Utsumi (Shigeyuki Totsugi) is a 42-year-old salesman. He is in the fancy Ginza district, to have a meeting with a client. However, the meeting is cancelled, and he suddenly has some time on his hands. He decides to go explore new clients, but runs into the "Sento," Komparuyu. Seeing all the people around him working makes him feel guilty, but he heads to the authentic bath house anyway.

Takayuki Utsumi (Shigeyuki Totsugi) is a 42-year-old salesman. He has just finished visiting a client, and is walking around looking for other potential clients. He finds Hisamatsuyu, a very modern-looking "Sento." Once through the lobby, a front desk like that of a luxurious hotel welcomes him. As he proceeds into the bathing area, he finds himself standing in a very stylish atmosphere.

Takayuki Utsumi (Shigeyuki Totsugi) is a 42-year-old salesman. He heads to see a client with his boss, Shoko Dozono (Akiko Yagi), who shows him how the job is done, and nails it. Takayuki is utterly impressed, and tells himself that he will try his very best to get more orders. As Shoko walks away, he sees the sign board for Takarayu Bath. And so, straight away, he heads to... the bath house.

He decides not to go home and go make rounds, but grabs breakfast first. On his way he comes across the Tsubameyu Bath, a "tangible cultural property designated by the Japanese government." He decides to treat himself for a little bath time.

He is in desperate need to shake things up, but he comes across a sign board for a natural hot spring. It's still during the day, on a weekday, but Takayuki cannot resist flipping through the entrance curtains.

Takayuki decides to pull himself together and go try to explore new clients... when the sign for Kamata Hot Spring comes to sight. He tells himself that this is no time to be bathing, but he decides to go in anyway.

Off comes his tie, and in he goes...

He is still working, but is tempted. And in bright daylight, on a weekday, he flips through the entrance curtains, and into the bath house he goes.
