Ep 20. Rocket Fuel

There are certain professions that call for individuals who are able to handle high-pressure situations with ease, remaining calm and focused when the stakes are highest. One such profession is that of a member of a S.W.A.T. team, where quick thinking and nerves of steel are absolute must-haves. The television show S.W.A.T., which made its debut in 2017 and is currently in its second season, takes viewers into the fast-paced world of the Los Angeles Police Department's Special Weapons and Tactics unit as they tackle a variety of high-risk and dangerous missions.

In season 2 episode 20, "Rocket Fuel," the S.W.A.T. team is called into action when a group of bank robbers takes hostages. The robbers are heavily armed and have a stash of a particularly potent and deadly type of drug that they have developed themselves. Director Larry Teng does an excellent job of ratcheting up the tension with each passing minute, never letting the audience get too comfortable or predict what will happen next. There are several moments in which it seems like all hope is lost, only for the team to come up with a last-minute plan that saves the day.

At the same time, there are also several quieter moments in the episode that allow viewers to get a glimpse into the personal lives of the S.W.A.T. team members. For example, Hondo is still dealing with the fallout from his previous relationship, and he finds himself drawn to a woman who is involved in the hostage situation. Meanwhile, Officer Chris Alonso (played by Lina Esco) struggles with her own demons as she tries to keep a level head during the intense standoff.

All of these elements come together to make "Rocket Fuel" one of the standout episodes of S.W.A.T. season 2. It showcases the best of what the show has to offer - heart-pumping action, tense standoffs, and complex characters who are fighting for what they believe in. Whether you are a die-hard fan of the show or are just tuning in for the first time, this episode is sure to leave you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
