Ep 20. Synthesis

After defeating the Integrity Knight Renly, Kirito and Eugeo continue their quest to find Alice and reach the top of the Central Cathedral. Along the way, they spot a dark figure in the distance and immediately follow it.

They soon find themselves in a hidden room filled with crystals. They inspect the crystals and Kirito realizes that they contain the memories of the people from the real world who have had their minds uploaded into the Underworld. As they examine the crystals, they come across a girl named Charlotte who was a nurse in the real world.

Charlotte tells them that she has been observing them and their actions and believes that they are the only ones capable of saving Alice. She also reveals that the only way to reach the top of the Central Cathedral is to use a special elevator that only the highest-ranking Integrity Knights have access to.

Kirito and Eugeo resolve to find a way to hack into the elevator system and make their way to the top.

Meanwhile, Alice, who is now a prisoner of the Administrator, is forced to undergo a process called "Synthesis." This process involves merging her memories with those of the Administrator in order to create the ultimate weapon to defeat the Dark Territory.

As Alice's memories start to merge with the Administrator's, she remembers her past with Kirito and begins to resist the process. The Administrator, however, forces her to continue and Alice's mind is pushed to its limits.

Back with Kirito and Eugeo, they manage to hack into the elevator system and make their way to the top of the Central Cathedral. However, they are met with resistance from the Integrity Knights and must fight their way past them.

As they fight their way through, they eventually reach the top and encounter the Administrator, who is in the midst of completing the Synthesis process with Alice.

Kirito and Eugeo engage in a fierce battle with the Administrator while trying to free Alice from the Synthesis process. The battle is intense and both sides sustain heavy injuries.

Just when all hope seems lost, a powerful ally appears to aid Kirito and Eugeo in their fight. With this unexpected assistance, they are able to break Alice free from the Synthesis process.

The episode ends with the group retreating from the Central Cathedral, not knowing what dangers await them next.
