Kirito is asked by Seijirou Kikuoka to test an experimental FullDive equipment that could help develop artificial intelligence with human-like emotions. Meanwhile, Asuna is recruited for an internship program in America by her father, leaving Kirito behind. Alone and bored, Kirito ventures into a new VRMMORPG and meets a young boy named Eugeo. The two become friends and Eugeo introduces Kirito to his dream of becoming a swordsman. Together, they enroll in the Swordcraft Academy and begin their journey to become elite swordsmen. As they progress through the ranks, they encounter challenges and obstacles, including a powerful swordsman who seems to have a vendetta against Eugeo. As Kirito and Eugeo work to overcome these trials, they also begin to uncover dark secrets within the academy and the world they are inhabiting. With danger around every corner, Kirito and Eugeo must use their wits and their skill with a sword to navigate through this new, dangerous world and uncover the truth about what lies beyond the academy's walls.
