Ep 5. Twilight's Last Gleaming

As the fifth episode of The 100 season one begins, the grounders' attack on the camp has left everyone on edge. The different groups within the 100 are struggling to find unity as they try to figure out how to survive in their new environment. Bellamy is already crowning himself as a leader, making decisions without thinking of the consequences. Clarke is trying to find a way to heal the injured and tend to the sick with the limited resources she has. Meanwhile, Finn is desperate to find Clarke, who is missing, and he becomes more irrational with every passing moment.

In "Twilight's Last Gleaming," the power struggle within the group becomes more apparent. Bellamy continues to make moves that only benefit himself, while others like Clarke, Abby, and Kane try to think of a plan for the group as a whole. The group is still reeling from the previous episode's events and the loss of one of their own. They are now vulnerable and aware that they need to be prepared for anything that might happen.

The episode begins with the camp preparing for a possible second attack by the grounders. Bellamy uses this as an opportunity to further cement his place as the group's leader. He starts handing out weapons and training the others to fight. However, his methods are brutal, and he doesn't take into account the fact that not everyone in the group is comfortable with violence and death.

Meanwhile, Clarke is still missing, and Finn is desperate to find her. He's feeling guilty for causing the attack and believes that if he had stayed with Clarke, she wouldn't have been taken. He confides in Raven, with whom he shares a history, and they agree to help each other as they continue their search.

As the day wears on, Abby and Kane try to work out a way to prevent another attack. Kane is firm in his belief that the grounders won't stop until they have what they want, and he's willing to kill them all to protect his people. Abby tries to reason with him and reminds him that they aren't savages and shouldn't stoop to their level.

During this time, we also see more of Octavia and her struggles to fit in with the rest of the group. She's still seen as an outsider by some of the members and is trying to find her place in this new world. We also see Raven's skills as a mechanic, as she works on a radio to try and make contact with the Ark. She believes that if they can make contact, then they can signal for help and possibly find a way back to the Ark.

The tension builds as the episode progresses, with everyone on edge and ready for a fight. Bellamy's methods are called into question, and he faces some resistance from some of the group's members. Abby leads a group of people to try and negotiate with the grounders, knowing that violence will only make things worse for everyone.

"Twilight's Last Gleaming" is a tense, action-packed episode that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. It shows the different sides of the characters and how they react to the situations they find themselves in. It's a great continuation of the series, with the tension and uncertainty only increasing as the group tries to find a way to survive in their new environment.
