Blood Must Have Blood - Part One is the fifteenth episode of the second season of the post-apocalyptic science fiction television series The 100. This episode primarily focuses on the power struggle between various factions in the Mount Weather. The episode starts with Mount Weather preparing to launch another missile attack on the Grounders’ village. While Dante Wallace, the leader of Mount Weather, is hesitant to order the attack, his son Cage is all in for it. Cage, who has ascended to power following his father’s return to the mountain, is keen on getting his hands on the Grounders’ blood for the creation of a serum that could save their people from the radiation poisoning.
Meanwhile, Clarke and her group of survivors are still trying to come up with a plan to take down the people of Mount Weather. The survivors learn of another group of Grounders who have also been captured and held captive by Mount Weather. They decide to approach the new group for an alliance, but things don’t go as planned. The new group of Grounders are led by Indra, a fierce warrior who is wary of strangers. Clarke and her group are forced to fight Indra’s warriors to prove their worthiness. In the end, they are able to win Indra’s trust and form an alliance with her.
Back at Mount Weather, Dante desperately tries to regain control from his son and prevent another attack on the Grounders. He enlists the help of Jasper by revealing the fate of his lost girlfriend, Maya. Jasper is heartbroken to learn that Maya was killed by the people of Mount Weather and decides to help Dante. Dante devises a plan to release the Grounders held captive in Mount Weather in exchange for an end to the missile attacks. To ensure the plan’s success, Clarke agrees to pose as a Grounder emissary and negotiate with Cage.
The episode ends with several cliffhangers, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats. We see Lincoln, who has previously been tased and captured by Cage, being subjected to the same radiation treatment the Grounders have been receiving. Raven, who has been struggling with her injuries, develops a plan to use the video games she and Monty had been playing to try and break into the Mount Weather security system. Finally, Clarke and Cage come face to face to negotiate the terms of the Grounder’s release.
Overall, Blood Must Have Blood - Part One is a thrilling episode that sets up the stage for the season’s explosive finale. The power struggles and shifting alliances keep the episode fast-paced and engaging, while the characters’ personal struggles and tragedies add depth and emotional resonance.
