The Ancient Magus' Bride (Original Japanese Version) season 2 episode 9 titled "Necessity has no law" begins with Chise and Elias continuing their journey to London to meet Lindel. On their way, they come across an injured dragon who asks for their help.

The messenger tells them that Lindel is in trouble and needs their help. Elias, Chise and the dragon set out to find Lindel, and on their way, they come across a group of witches who are performing a ritual.

Despite the witches' warning to stay away, Elias approaches them and asks for their help in finding Lindel. The witches refuse to help, but they do provide a clue that leads Elias and his party to a cave where Lindel is being held captive.

Inside the cave, they find Lindel locked up in a cage and surrounded by dark magic. Elias tries to break the spell, but he is unable to do so. It is then revealed that the witch who had cast the spell was one of Lindel's former students, who had turned to dark magic after being expelled from Lindel's school.

Elias and the witch engage in a battle of magic, with Elias determined to save Lindel and the witch trying to stop him. Chise, meanwhile, discovers that Lindel's life force is being drained by the dark magic, and she decides to take matters into her own hands.

Using her own magic, Chise manages to break the spell and free Lindel from the cage. With Lindel saved, Elias and Chise prepare to leave the cave, but they are stopped by the witch, who begs for their forgiveness.

Feeling sorry for the witch, Elias agrees to let her go, but he warns her that if she ever uses dark magic again, he will not be so forgiving.

The episode ends with Elias, Chise, Lindel, and the dragon continuing their journey to London, with a new sense of purpose and determination to confront the unknown challenges that await them.
