Grandparent Trap/Miss Step: In episode 6 of season 2 of The Casagrandes, the audience is in for a double treat with two different stories playing out simultaneously. First up is ‘Grandparent Trap’, which centers around Bobby and Ronnie Anne’s attempt to activate their Abuela’s hidden competitive side when they notice she is feeling a bit low. The siblings decide to dabble into some deception by setting up a fake competition between Abuela and her estranged friend Frederica, in which both the parties have to put their friendship to the test. The two resolve to compete against each other to find out who makes a better sandwich. The Casagrande kids believe that this will ignite Abuela’s competitive nature, but things don’t go as planned when Frederica’s grandson and Bobby’s friend, Carlitos, who is a sandwich artist, decides to lend his sandwich-making prowess to Frederica.
The second story- ‘Miss Step,’ focuses on Sid and Adelaide’s bond of friendship being put to the test when they discover they have unique interests that don't align with each other's. Adelaide is practicing for a dance competition, while Sid dreams of hanging out with her best friend at the arcade. Sid's aspirations don't seem to impress Adelaide, and even though she tries her best to feign a shared interest, it becomes clear to Sid that Adelaide would much rather spend time perfecting her twirls. Sid decides to take up dance classes to impress Adelaide and make her happy, but soon realizes she is way behind in abilities and feels discouraged. She considers giving up and confesses to Adelaide that perhaps dance isn't her cup of tea. Adelaide's advice to Sid, however, changes her thinking and encourages her to push herself even in the face of setbacks.
Throughout these two stories, the Casagrandes continue to be the close-knit family unit we have come to know and love. Bobby and Ronnie Anne work together to create a fake competition that they hope will make their Abuela feel better, while Sid and Adelaide show us that true friendship is measured by how much you can support and encourage one another, even if your interests may differ. Join the fun and feel the warmth as The Casagrandes serve up yet another heartwarming episode sure to be a hit with the whole family.
