Ep 1. Pilot

The Fix is a TV show that follows Los Angeles prosecutor Maya Travis as she attempts to bring a wealthy celebrity to justice for the murder of a young woman. The show first aired on ABC in March 2019 and ran for one season.

The first episode of The Fix, titled "Pilot," introduces us to Maya Travis (Robin Tunney), a successful prosecutor who leaves her high-profile job in Los Angeles after failing to convict the wealthy and charismatic movie star Sevvy Johnson (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) for the murder of his girlfriend. Eight years later, Travis lives a quiet life with her boyfriend, but when another young woman is found dead in circumstances eerily similar to Sevvy's previous victim, she is called back to LA to help prosecute the case. Travis initially resists, but eventually agrees to take the case after seeing the similarities between the two murders and the possibility of getting justice for the victim.

As she re-enters the legal world she left behind, Travis is met with coldness from her former colleagues, resentment from the victim's family, and the media circus surrounding Sevvy's trial. Despite this, she is determined to do everything in her power to ensure that Sevvy is found guilty this time around.

Travis is joined in her quest for justice by her former colleague, Matthew Collier (Adam Rayner), who is now working in a different capacity and brings an outsider's perspective to the case. Together, the two start to investigate the murder and stumble upon a web of lies and deceit that suggest there may be more at play than just a simple murder case. Meanwhile, Sevvy hires a high-powered defense team led by Ezra Wolf (Scott Cohen) to represent him in court and discredit Travis and her team.

As the trial picks up steam, tensions rise both inside and outside the courtroom, and Travis and Collier must navigate their way through a maze of lawyers, witnesses, and shady characters to uncover the truth. Along the way, they must also confront their own pasts and personal demons, which threaten to hold them back from achieving justice for the victim.

The pilot episode of The Fix sets the stage for the rest of the season, introducing us to the cast of characters and the central conflict of the show. It also lays the groundwork for the complex and multi-layered murder case, which gradually unfolds over the course of the season. The show blends elements of a legal drama, a thriller, and a character study, with plenty of twists and turns to keep viewers guessing. At its heart, The Fix is a story about justice, redemption, and the human cost of pursuing the truth.
