Ep 20. Nice Lady

Will and Carlton are excited to attend the Annual Mother/Son dance at Bel-Air Academy, but their plans are derailed when Carlton realizes he’s already asked his date, a "nice lady" named Cynthia, to the dance. Since Will doesn’t have a date, Carlton suggests he take Cynthia’s mother, the very attractive and vivacious Helen.

While Carlton has a great time with Cynthia at the dance, Will quickly realizes that Helen is much more interested in him than he initially thought. Although Will tries to keep things strictly platonic, Helen’s advances become increasingly more obvious and he’s soon left with a decision to make: whether to give into temptation or stay true to his standards.

Meanwhile, Aunt Vivian is on a business trip and Uncle Phil is at home trying to take care of a sick Ashley and Hilary. Things quickly spiral out of control as both girls become increasingly demanding and Uncle Phil finds himself struggling to balance work, family, and his sanity.

As the episode reaches its climax, Will and Helen share a heart-to-heart conversation where they both come clean about their feelings for each other. Will ultimately decides that he can’t pursue a relationship with Helen, which leads to a touching moment where she confides in him about her own struggles, highlighting the importance of friendship and communication.
