Ep 2. Contract Terms

In The Future Diary season 1 episode 2, entitled "Contract Terms," we continue to follow Yukiteru Amano, a high school student who has been pulled into a deadly game of survival. In the previous episode, he discovered that he has been chosen as one of 12 "diary holders," each of whom possesses a diary that can predict the future. The winner of the game will become god.

At the beginning of the episode, Yukiteru is still reeling from the shock of his new reality. He is understandably terrified and unsure of what to do next. However, that doesn't stop him from trying to find a way out of the game. Along with his new ally Yuno Gasai, who is fiercely devoted to him, he visits the game's creator, Deus Ex Machina, in an attempt to negotiate his way out of the game. However, Deus reveals that there is no escape from the game, and that all 12 diary holders must fight to the death.

As Yukiteru comes to terms with the reality of his situation, he starts to learn more about the other diary holders. Some of them are ruthless killers, while others are just as scared and confused as he is. In particular, he crosses paths with Minene Uryuu, a former terrorist who has been given the power to control explosives. The two make a deal to team up and try to take down some of the other diary holders.

However, as they set about their plans, they soon realize that they are being watched. Someone is following them and reporting their movements to the other diary holders. Yukiteru and Minene must figure out who their spy is and neutralize them before they can be killed.

Meanwhile, Yuno is dealing with her own issues. As we learned in the previous episode, she is deeply in love with Yukiteru and will do anything to protect him. However, she also has a dark side, and we begin to see more of that side in this episode. She believes that the only way to keep Yukiteru safe is to kill all of the other diary holders, and she will stop at nothing to achieve that goal.

Overall, The Future Diary season 1 episode 2 is a tense and action-packed installment that sets the stage for the rest of the series. We get to know more about the world of the game, as well as the other players involved. The episode also raises important questions about morality and the nature of power. Yukiteru and the other diary holders are all dealing with the same dilemma: how far are they willing to go in order to come out on top? It's a fascinating premise, and one that promises to deliver plenty of thrills and suspense in the episodes to come.
