As The Good Wife enters its second season, we find Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) continuing to navigate the tricky waters of being a working mom after her husband's highly publicized political scandal. In episode 15, titled "Silver Bullet," we are thrown into the action as an old friend of Will's (Josh Charles) comes to town for a high-stakes case.

The episode opens with a group of lawyers, including Alicia, gathered in a conference room discussing a potential client. The client is a wealthy businessman who is being investigated by the FBI for money laundering and other illegal activities. The lawyers agree that taking on this client could be a huge win for their firm, but they also acknowledge the risk that comes with representing someone accused of such serious crimes.

Meanwhile, Will receives a call from a childhood friend named Blake (Scott Porter), who is in town for a job interview. Will agrees to meet up with him, and we soon learn that Blake is applying for a position as a private investigator for the firm. Blake's interview doesn't go quite as planned, but Will is willing to overlook his lack of experience and hires him on the spot.

The story really picks up when the wealthy client decides to hire the firm to represent him. As they begin to investigate his case, they uncover some surprising information that makes them question whether he is actually guilty of the crimes he's been accused of. As they dig deeper, they realize they might have stumbled onto something big, something that could completely change the course of the case.

Throughout the episode, we see a lot of back-and-forth between Alicia and her husband, Peter (Chris Noth). Peter is still dealing with the fallout from his own scandal, and Alicia is constantly being pulled in different directions as she tries to balance her work at the firm with her responsibilities as a mother and wife. As always, Julianna Margulies delivers an outstanding performance, expertly capturing Alicia's struggles and inner turmoil.

One of the standout moments in the episode comes when Blake shows off his skills as a private investigator. Although he's new to the job, he proves to be incredibly resourceful and is able to dig up some important information that helps the lawyers make a breakthrough in the case. Scott Porter brings a great energy to the role of Blake, and his chemistry with Josh Charles is a highlight of the episode.

As the case moves forward, Alicia and the other lawyers must navigate some pretty treacherous waters. They're dealing with a client who might be guilty of some very serious crimes, and they're not entirely sure they can trust the information they're uncovering. But as always, they're dedicated to providing the best possible representation for their client, even if it means taking some risks along the way.

Overall, "Silver Bullet" is a strong episode of The Good Wife that showcases the series' strengths. The writing is sharp, the performances are top-notch, and the pacing is excellent. It's a great example of why the show was able to maintain such a dedicated fanbase throughout its run. If you're a fan of legal dramas or just great television, this is definitely an episode worth watching.
