Ep 5. Kerching! Kerching!

The Librarians season 3 episode 5, titled "Kerching! Kerching!", follows the team of librarians as they investigate a mysterious artifact that seems to have the power to grant people's greatest wishes. However, they soon realize that the artifact comes with a steep price, and must hurry to stop the wishes from turning into deadly nightmares.

The episode begins with the team tracking down a thief who has stolen an ancient ring from a private collector. When they catch up to him, they find that the ring has already been activated and the thief has been granted his wish of becoming wealthy beyond his wildest dreams. However, his newfound wealth has come at a cost, and he soon begins to suffer from strange, painful symptoms.

Realizing that the ring must have some kind of dangerous power, the team takes it back to the Library to analyze it. Ezekiel takes a particular interest in the artifact, believing that it could be the key to fulfilling his own dreams of wealth and power.

As they investigate the ring, the team discovers that it's not actually a ring at all, but a fragment of a larger object known as the Midas Eye. The Eye is said to have the power to grant wishes, but always at a terrible cost, and it has been missing for centuries.

Determined to find the rest of the Eye before someone else gets their hands on it, the team splits up to search for clues. Eve and Jenkins head to a remote village to investigate a legend involving a man who was granted a single wish by the Eye and died soon after. Cassandra and Stone travel to a museum to examine a similar artifact in the hopes of finding more information about the Eye's powers. And Ezekiel goes rogue, teaming up with a group of thieves in an attempt to steal the Eye for himself.

As the team investigates, they begin to experience their own personal desires and greed taking over. Eve becomes obsessed with finding the Eye before anyone else can use it for evil, while Jenkins is haunted by visions of his past mistakes. Cassandra is forced to confront her own desires for power and recognition, and Stone is tempted by the idea of using the Eye to help his struggling family.

Meanwhile, Ezekiel's plan goes awry when he realizes the thieves he's working with have their own dangerous motives. He races back to the Library to warn the team and try to make amends for his greed.

In the end, the team manages to recover the rest of the Midas Eye and destroy it, thwarting any future wishes and their deadly consequences. However, the experience leaves them all questioning their own personal desires and the dangerous allure of wishing for something more.
