The Price is Right season 2004 episode 84, titled Eric Schwendeman vs. Doug Esker vs. Maura Gatowski, is show # 4614 of the long-running game show. In this particular episode, three contestants compete against each other in a series of pricing games in hopes of winning big prizes.

The first contestant introduced is Eric Schwendeman, who is from Sacramento, California. He seems excited and energetic as he waves to the audience and grins at the camera. Next up is Doug Esker, who hails from Cincinnati, Ohio. He looks a bit nervous but determined as he steps onto the stage. Finally, Maura Gatowski is introduced. She is from Staten Island, New York and seems confident and poised as she takes her place next to the other two contestants.

The first pricing game played is called "Cliff Hangers". In this game, the contestants must guess the prices of three different items without going over in order to keep a little mountain climber from falling off a board. Eric is up first and guesses the price of a steam cleaner. He is off by $20 and the mountain climber moves up a couple of steps. Doug is up next and guesses the price of a toaster. He is also off by $20, but the mountain climber doesn't move at all since he hasn't lost any ground. Maura is last to guess and she must guess the price of a set of three candle holders. She guesses $28 and is also off by $20, which causes the mountain climber to move up another few steps. The game continues with the contestants guessing the prices of a jar opener and a set of silverware, but I don't want to spoil the outcome!

The next game is "Plinko", which is always a fan favorite. In this game, a contestant drops a small disc down a board filled with pegs. The disc bounces around and eventually lands in one of several slots at the bottom of the board, each of which has a different cash prize. The contestant wins whatever amount of money the disc lands on. Eric is up first and he seems confident as he drops his disc down the board. It bounces around a bit before eventually landing on a $500 slot, which is a great start. Doug is up next and his disc bounces around even more than Eric's before finally landing on a $100 slot. Maura is last to play and she seems a bit nervous as she drops her disc down the board. It bounces around quite a bit before landing on a $1,000 slot, which is a huge win!

The third game played is called "One Away". In this game, the contestant is shown a car with a price that is incorrect. The contestant must then change the digits in the price by "one away" in either direction to make the correct price. Eric is up first and seems a bit perplexed as he studies the car's price. He makes his first guess and is told how many of the digits are correct. He then makes several more guesses, changing the digits one at a time, before finally getting the correct price. Doug is up next and has a bit of trouble with the game, but eventually gets the right price with three guesses. Maura is last to play and seems to have a pretty good strategy as she makes her guesses. She only needs two guesses to get the correct price, which is impressive.

The final game played is called "Showcase Showdown". In this game, each contestant spins a large wheel to try and get as close to $1 as possible without going over. The closest contestant to $1 moves on to the "Showcase" round, where they will have the chance to win even bigger prizes. Eric is up first and spins the wheel with gusto. He gets a score of 60 and decides to spin again. The second spin lands him on 80, which adds up to a total of 140. Doug is up next and spins the wheel more cautiously. He lands on 30 with his first spin and decides to spin again, which ends up being a good choice as he lands on 70 for a total of 100. Maura is last to spin and seems confident as she gives the wheel a hard spin. Her first spin lands her on 60, which she decides to spin again. The second spin is a bit too hard and the disc goes flying off the wheel, which means she automatically loses the round.

In the end, Doug is the closest to $1 and moves on to the "Showcase" round. Eric and Maura both receive some consolation prizes, but they are clearly disappointed to not have made it further in the game. The "Showcase" round looks like it will be a lot of fun, but I don't want to give anything away. Overall, this episode of The Price is Right is full of excitement, tension, and lots of great prizes. Fans of the show won't want to miss it!
