From the Golden Age of television, The Soupy Sales Show is a classic of the slapstick daytime TV show genre. Starring comedian Milton Supman, better known to his legions of young fans as Soupy Sales, the show features a mix of sketches, puppets, and other assorted comedy antics. Mixed with improvised humor and puns, the routines frequently culminate in a pie to the face, a gag which Sales performed literally thousands of times and became his trademark. Celebrity guests appear on the show just for the honor of taking a pie themselves. The show was originally called Lunch with Soupy, then renamed 12 O'Clock Comics, before ending up on its best known titles as simply The Soupy Sales Show. Although aimed at children, the show had a cult following among adults as well.
