Ep 12. It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Hotel

Zack and Cody are back again in episode 12 of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody's first season, titled "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Hotel". The brothers find that things are getting crazy at the Tipton Hotel when a famous author, who recently released a new book, decides to stay at the hotel.

As the hotel's resident bell boys, Zack and Cody are tasked with escorting the author around the hotel and keeping her happy during her stay. However, they soon realize that their job is going to be easier said than done. The author is not happy with her accommodations and quickly starts making outrageous demands that are impossible for the boys to fulfill.

Meanwhile, Maddie is dealing with her own problems. She is preparing for her driving test, but no matter how much she studies and practices, she just isn't getting any better. Her best friend London tries to help her out, but her attempts at teaching Maddie to drive are less than successful.

Back at the hotel, Zack and Cody's attempts to please the author only result in her becoming more and more upset. She starts insisting on having an elephant in her room and even demands that the hotel bring in snow so she can go sledding. The boys are at their wits' end and decide to take matters into their own hands.

In an effort to please the author, Zack and Cody start performing ridiculous stunts around the hotel, trying to make her laugh. However, things quickly spiral out of control and they end up causing chaos all over the hotel, including in the kitchen where Arwin is trying to prepare dinner for the author.

Maddie's driving test doesn't go well, and she is devastated. However, London helps her see the bright side of the situation and convinces her that she can always try again. Maddie takes her advice and schedules another driving test for the next day.

Back at the hotel, the boys realize that they have gone too far in their attempts to please the author. They decide to come clean and apologize for their behavior. The author is surprisingly understanding and admits that she was just trying to get material for her next book.

The episode ends with Maddie passing her driving test on the second try and the boys relieved to have escaped the author's unreasonable demands. Zack and Cody learn an important lesson about honesty and Maddie learns that even if you don't succeed the first time, there's always another chance to try again.
