Nightcap (aka: Traci from Nightcap) is a 10-episode comedy set behind-the-scenes of a fictitious late-night talk show, entitled "The Night Cap with Jimmy" starring Ali Wentworth as Traci. It is an edgy, over-the-top, single-camera, culture-commentary comedy that will feature a mixed cast of improvisational actors and real-life celebrities. Each half-hour episode covers the hectic 22 minutes prior to a live airing of a late-night talk show and Wentworth will star as a talent booker on the fictional show.

  • There's more chaos backstage than normal when Jimmy's new girlfriend Christie Brinkley demands he quit Nightcap. Bethenny Frankel is saving her voice for a speaking engagement and forces Penny to do her dirty work. David Hasselhoff spends the day telling embarrassing stories about his nephew, Nightcap's own hair and makeup guru, Marcus.

  • TV's favorite dad, Bob Saget, only wants to talk about his obsession with a Japanese collectible toy. Carrot Top convinces Todd to capitalize on an unfortunate nickname earned after an on-air flub.

  • Debra Messing fills in at the last minute and gets too close for Staci's comfort,arranging a "girls spa day" for the two in her dressing room. Davis has his hands full with Brendan Fraser, who wants to try his hand at musical comedy and debut a very offensive song on Nightcap.

  • Penny is missing so Staci goes to check on her. Davis dupes Jimmy's longtime nemesis, Cedric the Entertainer into making an appearance on Nightcap. Regularly scheduled guests Rachel Bloom and Naked Cowboy make elaborate bets on whether Penny is alive.

  • Jesse Tyler Ferguson arrives with his personal guru and inadvertently enlists the Nightcap staff to join what seems like a cult. Michael Strahan disappoints Davis when he'd rather talk history than football. Staci and Penny fight over Ross Mathews' fake affection when he propositions both to be his pansexual beard.

  • Julianne Moore is shadowing Staci to prepare for a role in an indie film. Acting anything but natural, Staci goes on an awkward lunch date with Donny Deutsch. Todd consults Barbara Corcoran and Dr. Oz about donating his body fat to Jimmy for a cosmetic procedure.

  • Staci is caught being a horrible person by Juju Chang’s hidden camera show. Desperate to prove she’s a good person, Staci gets herself in too deep when Brooke Shields pressures her and Kelly Rutherford into a dangerous drinking game.

  • Alec and Hilaria Baldwin go out of their way to be empathetic when Staci reveals she had a minor cancerous mole removed; Staci confuses their kindness as sexual interest and propositions them for a threesome.

  • Staci tries to convince transgender personality GiGi Gorgeous to go on a date with Jimmy. Ana pitches her makeup line to Stephanie March, with unpleasant consequences.

  • Jason Biggs acts differently on a return appearance, surprising the staff. Meanwhile, Beth Stern promotes animal adoption by bringing kittens, but trouble arises when one cat disappears.

  • Tim Gunn stops by unexpectedly, so the staff must juggle guests. Meanwhile, Todd asks Debra Messing to film a video while channeling her old sitcom character; and Randy and Marcus pitch their invention to Mark Cuban.

  • Staci faces a difficult task involving guest Michael J. Fox and a stunt with a cannon. Meanwhile, Jim Gaffigan desperately wants to promote his new energy drink on the show.
