In the first episode of the British sitcom Trollied, viewers are introduced to the employees of the fictional supermarket, Valco. We see how the staff, both new and old, deal with the daily challenges of working in such an environment as they collectively try to help their store become the best outlet in the area.

When new employee Leighton (played by Joel Fry) arrives for his first day, he quickly gets a taste for the store's quirky group of employees as he meets butcher Andy (Mark Addy), checkout woman Julie (Jane Horrocks), manager Gavin (Jason Watkins) and store veteran Margaret (Rita May).

Throughout the episode, we see how the staff interact with each other and how they cope with various tasks that arise throughout their shifts. Alongside the comedy, there is a sense of the frustrations that come with working in a supermarket, such as having to deal with obnoxious customers, equipment failures, and confusing store layouts.

Despite the inherent challenges that arise from working in such an environment, the characters in Trollied manage to find ways to turn their monotonous work days into fun experiences. As the episode progresses, it becomes apparent that the staff value each other's company and that their camaraderie is integral to surviving the stress that comes with working in a shop.

Ultimately, Episode 1 sets up the series by introducing the various personalities of the Valco store employees, allowing viewers to witness the unique challenges that come with working in a supermarket, and showcasing how a group of people with different lives can still come together and bond over their shared experiences.
