W/ Bob & David is a sketch comedy television series that premiered on Netflix in 2015. The show stars comedians David Cross and Bob Odenkirk, who are best known for their work on the sketch comedy series Mr. Show with Bob and David. The show also features John Ennis, who worked with Cross and Odenkirk on Mr. Show.

The show consists of four half-hour episodes, each featuring a series of sketches that range from silly and absurd to satirical and biting. The sketches are loosely connected by a storyline about Cross and Odenkirk pitching ideas for a new TV show to various executives, each of whom suggests a different genre for the show.

One of the standout features of the show is its self-awareness. Cross and Odenkirk frequently break the fourth wall to comment on the sketches themselves, or to acknowledge the audience's likely reaction to a particular joke or bit. This meta-commentary adds another layer of humor to the already-funny sketches.

The sketches themselves cover a wide range of topics, from pop culture parodies to absurdist humor to social commentary. One sketch, for example, imagines what it would be like if a city's sanitation department were run like a trendy tech startup, with employees wearing headphones and high-fiving each other as they collect garbage. Another sketch parodies a fake reality show called "Coupon: The Movie", in which contestants compete to find the most outrageous coupons and then act out the scenarios in the coupons.

Other sketches take aim at more serious issues, such as police brutality and the media's coverage of mass shootings. One recurring sketch features Ennis as a news anchor who is constantly interrupted by increasingly bizarre and irrelevant updates, like reports on a dog that can play the guitar or a man who believes he's a dolphin.

While some of the sketches fall flat, overall the show is consistently funny and entertaining thanks to the chemistry between Cross and Odenkirk and the clever writing. Fans of Mr. Show will find much to love here, as will anyone who enjoys absurdist humor or biting social commentary.

In addition to the sketches, each episode also features a musical performance by a guest artist, including Jack Black, Sarah Silverman, and Paul F. Tompkins. These performances add another layer of variety to the show and help to break up the pacing of the sketches.

Overall, W/ Bob & David is an excellent showcase for the talents of Cross and Odenkirk, as well as for Ennis and the other members of the show's writing and production team. While it may not be for everyone, fans of sketch comedy or satirical humor should definitely give it a watch.
