Three bears -- Grizzly (voiced by Eric Edelstein), Panda (voiced by Bobby Moynihan) and Ice Bear (voiced by Demetri Martin) -- live together in a cave in the woods. One day, Panda discovers a Mexican restaurant and becomes obsessed with the burritos there. After convincing his brothers to join him, they all become equally obsessed.
In "Burrito," the seventh episode of We Bare Bears' first season, the bears are on a quest to find the best burrito in town. Their search leads them to a food truck, where they encounter a lady named Lucy (voiced by Ellie Kemper). Despite the bears' order being messed up, Lucy takes a liking to them and invites them to her apartment for a homemade burrito.
When the bears arrive at Lucy's apartment, they discover that she's a hoarder. The apartment is overflowing with random objects, and Lucy herself is unkempt and disorganized. Nonetheless, she remains cheerful and begins cooking up a storm for her new friends. As she works, she tells the bears about her own quest for the perfect burrito -- a quest that's taken her to dozens of restaurants and food trucks all over the city.
As the bears eat their burritos and chat with Lucy, they start to get a sense of her loneliness. Despite her upbeat demeanor, it's clear that she doesn't have many friends and spends most of her time alone in her apartment. To make matters worse, her landlord is threatening to evict her if she doesn't clean up the apartment soon.
The bears decide to help Lucy clean up her apartment, but their efforts quickly spiral out of control. Grizzly becomes obsessed with organizing the apartment and starts throwing out perfectly good objects, while Panda tries to make a sculpture out of a pile of junk. Ice Bear, as usual, remains stoic and efficient, cleaning up the messes that his brothers create.
Things come to a head when Lucy discovers that the bears have thrown away some of her most treasured possessions -- including a ceramic penguin that was given to her by her grandmother. Furious, she boots them out of her apartment.
As the bears leave, they realize that they've made a mistake. They didn't understand how important these objects were to Lucy, and they didn't stop to consider how their actions might affect her. They decide to apologize and try to make things right.
In the end, the bears are able to win Lucy's forgiveness by offering her a special gift: a burrito from their own recipe. Lucy is impressed by the bears' culinary skills and grateful for their kindness. As they all sit down to eat together, the apartment is cleaner and more organized than ever before -- but the most important change is in Lucy herself. She's found some new friends who understand her and care about her, and that's worth more than any object.
"Burrito" is a heartwarming episode of We Bare Bears that highlights the importance of empathy and understanding. The bears' quest for the perfect burrito may have been trivial, but it led them to a meaningful connection with a lonely woman and taught them a valuable lesson about how to be better friends and neighbors.
