Hitomi is initially reluctant but eventually agrees to participate.
During the contest, Sato notices that one of the participants, Nanako, looks familiar. He soon makes the connection that Nanako is the girl who he had a brief romantic relationship with in the past. However, he is hesitant to approach her as he is ashamed of his hikikomori lifestyle.
Despite his reluctance, he decides to speak to her and apologizes for his behavior. Nanako forgives him and they reconcile their relationship. However, Sato soon realizes that he is not ready for a romantic relationship and breaks up with her again.
As the episode progresses, Sato continues to help Hitomi by taking her to an audition for a singing job.
