In the first episode of the Netflix series White Lines, viewers are introduced to Zoe Walker (Laura Haddock), a woman from Manchester who has spent the last twenty years living a seemingly normal life in London. At first, Zoe is reluctant to get involved in the case. She's happy to leave it up to the authorities and head back home, where her quiet life awaits. But as she starts digging deeper into the circumstances surrounding her brother's death, she realizes that there are secrets lurking beneath the surface, and that she may have to put her own safety on the line if she wants to get to the truth.

One of the key figures in the case is Marcus (Daniel Mays), a former friend of her brother's who is now a powerful DJ on the island. Zoe begins to suspect that Marcus may know more about what happened to her brother than he's letting on, and she decides to try and get close to him to find out whatever she can. But Marcus is a dangerous, unpredictable figure, and Zoe may be putting herself in grave danger by getting involved with him.

As Zoe continues to work the case, she begins to encounter a series of other colorful characters from the island's past. From older gangsters who used to run the island's nightclubs to up-and-coming DJs who are scrambling to make a name for themselves, Zoe's journey takes her deep into the heart of Ibiza's underworld. Along the way, she has to balance her simmering attraction to Marcus with her desire to find out the truth about her brother's death.

As the episode comes to a close, Zoe's investigation has only just begun. She's learned a few new things about her brother's death, but there are still many unanswered questions. What was he doing in Ibiza in the first place? Who was he involved with on the island? And most importantly, who killed him? With White Lines, Netflix has delivered an intriguing, tense drama that keeps viewers guessing at every turn.
