In White Lines season 1 episode 2, the mystery surrounding Axel's disappearance deepens as Zoe continues to investigate. She meets with Boxer to ask more questions and he tells her about a legendary Balearic DJ named Andreu who may have some information about Axel's last whereabouts.

Meanwhile, Zoe's brother Marcus arrives in Ibiza and meets up with Kika, Axel's former girlfriend. Kika reveals some shocking information about Axel's past and his association with a dangerous drug lord named Cristobal. Marcus is determined to find out what happened to his brother and sets out to speak with Cristobal, despite the risk involved.

Back in Manchester, Zoe's husband Mike begins to worry about her safety as she becomes more consumed with the case. He confronts her about her obsession with finding Axel, but she insists on continuing the investigation.

As Zoe and Marcus delve deeper, they learn more about Cristobal's criminal empire, including the involvement of Anna, the wife of one of Cristobal's associates. Anna becomes a key player in the investigation when she agrees to help Zoe and Marcus gather evidence against Cristobal.

Meanwhile, Boxer receives a warning from his superiors to stay away from Zoe and the investigation, as it could potentially implicate the police department. He decides to continue working with Zoe and Marcus in secret, knowing that finding Axel's killer is more important than keeping his job.
