Ep 9. Compassion

Ryan's compassion is put to the test in Wilfred season 1 episode 9 titled "Compassion". The episode starts with Ryan and Wilfred sitting on the couch watching the news. They see a story about a woman who is taking care of her sick mother, and Wilfred expresses disgust for the woman's lack of a social life. Ryan starts to become frustrated with Wilfred's behavior, and begins to question whether or not he really wants to continue their friendship. He confides in Anne about his feelings, and she tells him that she thinks he's a kind and compassionate person. Ryan feels encouraged by Anne's words and decides that he wants to continue helping her.

The climax of the episode comes when Anne's mother takes a turn for the worse and needs to be rushed to the hospital. Ryan accompanies Anne to the hospital, and they sit together in the waiting room, worried about Anne's mother's health. Wilfred shows up and tries to convince Ryan to leave, but Ryan stands his ground and insists on staying to support Anne.

In the end, Anne's mother pulls through, and Ryan feels proud of himself for being there for Anne during a difficult time. Wilfred apologizes for his behavior and admits that he was jealous of Ryan's relationship with Anne. Ryan forgives Wilfred, and they continue their friendship.
