WWE Mae Young Classic Season 1 Episode 2 Episode 2
- August 28, 2017
The WWE Mae Young Classic is a women's wrestling tournament featuring some of the best female wrestlers from around the world. In this second episode of the first season, the remaining 16 competitors continue to battle it out in the first round of the tournament.
The episode kicks off with two high-energy matches. Kavita Devi, the first Indian woman to compete in WWE, takes on New Zealand's Dakota Kai. Both women show off their impressive athleticism, but it's Kai who ultimately comes out on top after hitting her signature backstabber.
The second match features Xia Li of China facing off against seasoned veteran Mercedes Martinez. Li, a former martial artist, impresses the crowd with her kicks and speed, but it's Martinez's experience that wins out in the end. She hits a brutal fisherman buster to secure the victory.
Next up is a match between two powerhouse wrestlers. Jazzy Gabert from Germany takes on Abbey Laith from the United States. Gabert, also known as "The Alpha Female," dominates much of the match with her strength and size. However, Laith proves to be a resilient opponent, and eventually makes Gabert tap out to her signature Alligator Clutch finisher.
Following that intense bout is a match between two women with contrasting styles. Marti Belle, a fiery Puerto Rican wrestler who loves to trash talk, faces off against Rachel Evers, the daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Paul Ellering. Despite Belle's attempts to get under her skin, Evers manages to maintain her focus and ultimately defeats Belle with a top rope elbow drop.
The final match of the episode is between two wrestlers who are no strangers to each other. Tessa Blanchard, daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Tully Blanchard, takes on Kairi Sane, a Japanese wrestler with an impressive sailing background. The two had previously faced off in Japan, and this rematch does not disappoint. Sane shows off her speed and agility, while Blanchard uses her strength to overpower her opponent. In the end, it's Sane who comes out on top with her signature diving elbow drop.
Throughout the episode, viewers are treated to backstage glimpses of the competitors and interviews with some of the winners. One standout is Abbey Laith, who talks about the importance of representation and how she hopes to inspire young girls by being a part of the Mae Young Classic.
Overall, this episode of the WWE Mae Young Classic is action-packed and full of exciting matchups. The diversity of the competitors and their unique styles make for an entertaining and engaging viewing experience.
