In this episode of WWE The Best of WWE At Madison Square Garden, we are transported back to August 10, 1985, for a legendary tag team match-up. Andre the Giant and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff team up to face off against "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and "Cowboy" Bob Orton in a thrilling encounter.
The match begins with Orndorff and Piper starting things off. The two men exchange blows, but Orndorff gains the upper hand with a series of punches and a big clothesline. Piper, however, quickly turns the tide by going after Orndorff's arm and shoulder. Orndorff manages to fight back and tags in Andre the Giant.
The crowd erupts as Andre steps into the ring, dwarfing both Piper and Orton. The two villains double-team Andre, but he shrugs them off and delivers a massive headbutt to Piper. Orton tries to attack Andre from behind, but the Giant catches him and sends him flying out of the ring with a big boot.
Orndorff and Piper re-enter the fray, with Piper once again targeting Orndorff's injured arm. Orton also gets in some shots, but Orndorff shows his toughness by fighting back and even attempting a piledriver on Orton. Piper breaks it up, however, and the villains continue their assault.
Andre eventually gets tagged back in and starts laying waste to both Piper and Orton. He delivers big chops and headbutts to the villains, and even manages to lift and slam Orton, no easy feat given Orton's size and strength. Orndorff also gets some revenge on Piper, hitting him with a piledriver and a big elbow drop.
The match reaches its climax as Andre and Orndorff team up for a devastating double clothesline that takes down both Piper and Orton. Andre then finishes things off with a massive sit-down splash, pinning Piper for the victory.
The crowd goes wild as Andre and Orndorff celebrate their victory, while Piper and Orton slink away in defeat. This match is a true standout in the long and storied history of Madison Square Garden, and a must-watch for any wrestling fan.
