Based on the beloved comic strip called "Peanuts" by Charles Schultz, A Boy Named Charlie Brown focuses on the comic strip's main character, Charlie Brown. Charlie is an average boy that does not seem to have much luck when it comes to winning anything. His little league loses every game they play, he has trouble flying a kite, and he is getting tired of it. He wonders what it is like to win at something. One day, they held a spelling bee in his class, and he summons the courage to participate in it. He wins his class spelling bee and moves on to the school-wide one despite a few naysayers that were mocking him. With the help of his beagle, Snoopy, and his best friend, Linus, Charlie wins the school spelling bee, which qualifies him for the national one held in Manhattan. He heads to the national contest with the trusty, beloved blanket that Linus gave him and hopes of winning the national spelling bee.
