A classic comedy which stars Elisabeth Shue as Chris Parker, as Chris is getting ready for a date with her boyfriend Mike, Mike stops by to tell her that he cannot make it. Heartbroken, and with nothing to do that night, Chris decided to take a job babysitting the Brad and Sara Anderson, played by Keith Coogan, and Maia Brewton, respectively.
While at the Anderson's home, Chris gets a call from her friend Brenda, played by a young Penelope Ann Miller, begging her to come pick her up at the bus station. Chris has no choice but to Brad, Sara, and Brad's friend Daryl, played Anthony Rapp, into the city to save her best friend.
And this is where the adventure begins. A blowout on the expressway leaves Chris, Brad, Sara and Daryl stranded on the side of the road until John Pruitt, a tow truck driver played by John Ford Noonan, offers Chris and the gang a tow to the nearest garage to have the tire repaired.
Things don't go exactly as planned, and Chris and the kids wind up being held in a chop shop by a gang of thugs. Chris and the rest manage to escape, but the gang are chased through the city by the criminals. The group winds up in a blues club where they're tolde no one leaves without singin' the blues. Bad turns to worse when Sara gets separated from the group and decides to go find her Mother and Father.
While out, Chris also finds out what a snake her boyfriend really is, and that she bears an uncanny resemblance to a model in an adult magazine. Find out if Chris will be able to rescue her friend Brenda from the bus station, and get the kids back home before their bedtime.
