The movie Idle Hands is an interesting mix between horror and comedy. It combines a more traditional demonic horror story with a teen comedy, featuring stars such as Devon Sawa, Seth Green, Jessica Alba, and Vivica A. Fox. The story is centered around a teenager Anton, played by Sawa. Anton is a lazy, drug-using slacker that rarely leaves the coach. Without realizing it, his hands become possessed by an evil spirit, as a result of a lack of use. Also unbeknownst to him, his parents have been murdered in their bedroom upstairs. This leaves Anton left to fend for himself and with a problem he can't control.
By the time Anton realizes that he no longer has control over one of his hands, and that his hand is dedicated to doing evil things it is too late. He calls his friends over for help, only to have them both murdered by his possessed hand. Since it's a comedy, after Anton tries to bury his friends in his own backyard, his two friends rise form the dead and come back as zombies to help Anton.
At the same time, Anton has eyes for Molly, the beautiful girl down the street, played by Alba. Molly starts to show Anton some attention, but Anton becomes nervous that his hand has plans to kill her, just as they've killed others. In a desperate attempt to free himself from his hand, he cuts it off. However, all that does is free the hand and set it loose to kill anything and everyone in its path.
The hand ultimately ends up going to the school dance, where Anton and his friends must chase it down and destroy it, because it kills more people. Along the way they get help from Debi, played by Fox, who is tracking down the evil spirit that found its way to Anton's hand, with the hopes of destroying it once and for all.
