Ep 3. A Change of Face

After successfully fighting off Dr. Animo in the previous episode, Ben Tennyson and his cousin Gwen head to the mall for some rest and relaxation. However, they stumble upon Hex, a magician desperately seeking the Kinet, a powerful object that can give him ultimate power. Hex’s search leads him to an antique store where he finds the Kinet and absorbs its power, changing his appearance completely.

Meanwhile, Ben and Gwen are browsing at the mall when they come across a beauty salon. Gwen convinces Ben to come inside with her for a makeover, but Ben is hesitant at first. After some encouragement, Ben agrees, but as he sits in the salon chair, Hex attacks.

Using his newly acquired powers, Hex turns Ben into a monster and sets him loose on the mall. Gwen runs to safety and contacts Grandpa Max for backup. When Max arrives, he discovers that Ben has transformed into a completely different creature and must find a way to turn him back to normal.

Hex, now disguised as Ben, impersonates him and infiltrates the Tennyson family RV. He swaps places with Ben, leading the family to believe that he is their grandson. Meanwhile, the real Ben is wandering around the mall trying to figure out how to reverse the spell Hex has put on him.

As Hex/Ben travels with the Tennyson family, they notice that he is acting strange and begin to suspect that something is not right. They quickly realize that the Ben they are traveling with is actually Hex in disguise and quickly capture him. However, the group soon realizes that the real Ben is still missing and they need to find him quickly before it's too late.

Max uses his knowledge of magic to find a way to reverse the spell that turned Ben into a monster. With the help of Gwen and Hex/Ben, they are able to reverse the spell and Ben is restored to his normal self.

This episode highlights the importance of trust and the consequences of being tricked by someone you thought you could trust. It also shows the value of family and how working together can lead to solutions to even the most difficult problems.
