Ep 10. Return to Hell

In the season 4 episode 10 of Hell on Wheels titled "Return to Hell," the characters are forced to confront the consequences of their actions as the railroad continues to bring progress to the West.

Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) is still dealing with the aftermath of his wife's death and his role in the massacre of Native Americans. He tries to find solace in the bottle but is forced to sober up when a new crisis emerges. Ruth (Kasha Kropinski), who has become like a daughter to Bohannon, is kidnapped by a former slave named Sidney Snow (Shaun Taylor-Corbett), who seeks revenge against Bohannon for killing his brother.

Meanwhile, the railroad crew faces their own challenges. Psalms (Dohn Norwood) and his men are tasked with building a bridge over a treacherous river, while Durant (Colm Meaney) struggles to secure funding for the project. He turns to his old ally Maggie Palmer (Chelah Horsdal) for help, but their partnership becomes strained when she begins to question Durant's motives.

The tension between the Native Americans and the railroad also comes to a head, as the Cheyenne tribe launches an attack on the construction site. Bohannon's leadership is put to the test as he must rally his men to defend their work and protect innocent lives.

In the midst of all this turmoil, there are also moments of redemption and forgiveness. Eva (Robin McLeavy) seeks forgiveness from Louise (Jennifer Ferrin) for her past mistakes, while Bohannon must confront his own guilt and find a way to make amends for the harm he has caused.

As the season draws to a close, the characters are left to grapple with the ongoing consequences of their actions. Can they find a way to move forward and build a better future, or will they be consumed by their past mistakes and grievances?
