Ep 13. Safari, So Good

Detective Andy Sipowicz and Detective Danny Sorenson investigate a case of a murdered female tourist from South Africa. They dig through the victim's belongings and the information they find leads them to suspect that she may have been involved in illegal activities. Andy and Danny then go undercover as wealthy tourists to investigate the case further and to find their suspect who has fled to Namibia. Along the way, they witness the beautiful scenery and exotic animals during their safari trip.

Meanwhile, Detective John Clark Jr. is assigned to investigate the death of a young woman found on the streets. The victim appears to have died from a drug overdose but her family insists that she was not a drug user. John looks deeper into the case and follows the trail of drugs to a pawn shop where he believes the victim's stolen property has been sold. The pawn shop owner is less than forthcoming with information and John is forced to get creative to get the answers he needs.

Elsewhere, Detective Diane Russell and her husband, Assistant District Attorney Michael Woodruff, continue to struggle with their relationship after Michael's confession about his affair with a former colleague. Diane tries to work through her feelings but is still having a hard time trusting Michael again.

Back in Namibia, Andy and Danny finally catch up with their suspect but things take a dangerous turn when they discover that she has a dangerous ex-boyfriend who may be after her. They work together to apprehend the suspect and bring her back to the United States to face justice.

Overall, this episode of NYPD Blue is filled with action, suspense, and drama as the detectives work to solve a murder case on foreign soil while dealing with personal issues of their own.
