Ajnabee (1974) opens with Rohit finding love with a wealthy Reshmi and they marry despite protests from Reshmi's father Diwan. Reshmi, now pregnant, wins the Miss India beauty pageant and receives offers to travel the world. Now, Reshmi doesn't want to have the child. The couple separates. Diwan demands Rohit divorce his daughter. Rohit is devastated. After meeting with Reshmi and her father, Rohit realizes without money he is powerless to win Reshmi. He is accused of robbery and murder and arrested. Rohit's dream of winning back his wife is impossible, unless he can clear himself.
