This motion picture tells the tale of a family who has had to endure years of hardships, working under a vicious man who has no regard for the lives of his workers. The Torrenuova family has been living in Sicily all their lives. The only thing that the family cares about is the well-being of one another. They live and work under a vicious tycoon by the name of Giacinto, who has been using his power for very selfish reasons. Pepino is the youngest son of the Torrenuovas. He notices the injustices, and upon growing older he decides to form a local revolt against the tycoon.
