In the year 1970, the movie Black Brigade was released, which was directed by George McCowan. The movie takes place during World War II, and it is a story of a group of black soldiers, who were given the duty to defend against the Nazis in Italy, amidst racial tensions and discrimination. The movie stars Stephen Boyd as Capt. Beau Carter, the leader of the black squad, who is assigned with leading the black brigade. Robert Hooks portrays the role of Lt. Edward Wallace, who is second in command and the main protagonist of the movie. Susan Oliver stars as Carla, a French woman who works as a spy for the American Army.

The storyline of the movie is set against the backdrop of a racially divided America, and the movie begins with the introduction of the black soldiers, who have been drafted to serve in the army. The black brigade, which is led by Captain Carter, is tasked with undertaking dangerous missions, which no one else is willing to take. Initially, the black soldiers were not given any action, and they were designated as support personnel.

As the war progresses, the black soldiers get a chance to prove themselves, and they are sent on a mission to Italy. However, the mission is not well planned, and the soldiers face a lot of difficulties right from the beginning. The soldiers are not given proper training, and they do not have proper equipment. They face intense discrimination from their white counterparts, who regard them as inferior.

The discrimination and prejudice become evident when they are paired with a white soldier, who is supposed to lead them. This soldier, who is from the Ku Klux Klan, openly displays his animosity towards his black colleagues. He often insults them and openly disobeys orders from superiors. Eventually, the white soldier is killed in action, and Lt. Wallace becomes the leader of the black brigade.

Lt. Wallace, being the only African American officer, faces a lot of pressure from his superiors to prove himself. He is given the task of leading a group of soldiers to take out a Nazi stronghold, which is of strategic importance. Along the way, the soldiers face a lot of obstacles, including enemy fire, sickness, and hunger.

As the story progresses, we see Lt. Wallace and his team overcome all obstacles and emerge as heroes. They take out the Nazi stronghold and save many innocent lives. The movie ends with a victory parade and Lt. Wallace being awarded a medal of honor.

Black Brigade is an intense movie that deals with themes of racism, discrimination, and equality.
