Woody Allen's new movie, "Blue Jasmine," tells the story of Jasmine French, a New York City socialite recovering from a nervous breakdown. Having lost forever the wealth and status of her former life, Jasmine, played by Cate Blanchett, moves in with her estranged sister to start over in San Francisco. It becomes clear that the sisters have little in common, as their lives have gone in very different directions. Ginger, played by Sally Hawkins, is recently divorced and shares a small apartment with her two children. Jasmine, who dropped out of college to marry a multimillionaire, has only known luxury and refinement. For the first time, Jasmine must contend with the harsh realities of finding a job, learning new skills, and reentering the dating pool. She struggles to remain civil with her sister's boyfriend, a loud-mouthed mechanic played by Bobby Cannavale. Ultimately, she must face the realities of her life head-on, and reconcile herself with the painful secrets in her past. "Blue Jasmine" also stars Alec Baldwin, Michael Stuhlbarg, Louis C.K., and Andrew Dice Clay.
