Now seen as a classic of 1970s cinema, Car Wash is a drama comedy that deals with the issues facing a group of employees working at a Los Angeles car wash over the course of a single day. Car Wash is famous for including cameo appearances by a number of famous actors and a soundtrack that featured a number of successful songs, including the titular Car Wash theme. Detailing the problems facing low paid workers at the car wash, the employees possess a number of political points of view and lifestyle choices they have obviously made. Throughout the day the views and problems of each member of the multiracial cast of characters is highlighted by the customers arriving at the car wash. Amongst the most memorable of the customers is Daddy Rich, played by Richard Pryor, who looks for the wealth associated with being an evangelistic preacher over the needs of his followers. Amongst the other customers arriving at the car wash are a suspected terrorist bomber and a taxi driver searching for a prostitute who ran from his taxi earlier in the day.
