This science fiction movie sees a college professor and wild west enthusiast, Dr. McKenzie purchase a pair of old trunks at an auction and begin to sort through the contents. Within one of the trunks McKenzie notices an old picture of a gunslinger, Cole, who has shot three men in a local saloon. McKenzie notices the gun he used is a popular 1980s variety, which opens up a series of events that lead the professor on a quest through time that may result in the death of an important historical figure.
