Sometimes, people with overactive imaginations let it take them to unexpected places in life. Comic book creator Woodrow “Woody” Wilkins was just tooling around Europe, trying to spread news of his comic book, Condorman. He even works on creating gadgets that he has drawn for his comic book character. He decides to go to Paris and try out his Condorman wings by jumping from the Eiffel Tower, which ends him up in the Seine. While in Paris, his buddy Harry, who is a file clerk for the CIA, asks him to do a simple file clerk with a Russian civilian in Istanbul. Upon getting to the city, Woody meets up with the beautiful Natalia, whom he is to do the file swap with. Just before the swap, he has to fend off assassins, which he is only able to so with luck. This cult superhero movie was the creation of Walt Disney Studios. The director was Golden Globe winner Charles Jarrott. Marc Stirdivant adapted the spy spoof from the Robert Sheckley story, “The Game of X”. Music was done by Oscar winner Henry Mancini. The beautiful Natalia Rambova, played by Barbara Carrera, turns out to be a KGB spy. Woody, played by Tony winning Michael Crawford, falls for her, but says he is top CIA agent called Condorman. The two go their separate way, with Natalia going back to Moscow to confront her boss Krokov, played by Oliver Reed. He had sent the assassins. She then decides to defect, but only if Condorman is her escort away. Harry, played by James Hampton, and his boss Russ, played by Dana Elcar, have to promise Woody that they will provide Woody with gadgets he designed. Natalia and Woody run across Europe with Harry, while trying to evade Krokov and his henchmen. They have to go to Monte Carlo for a showdown. This is a tale of superhero fun and romance.
