Watch Cousin Bette

On her deathbed the wealthy Adeline makes her poor seamstress cousin Bette Fischer promise to take care of her family. Bette promises and does her best to befriend her brother in law and niece but ends up being treated more like a servant. The lonely Bette becomes increasingly bitter as a result of this and other slights against her and she proceeds to plot her revenge against the people who have wronged her. Along the way she becomes friends with a prominent Parisian courtesan named Jenny Cadine who becomes an unwitting pawn in her schemes.
