Dhadak is a 2018 Hindi movie, directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced under the banners of Dharma Productions and Zee Studios. The film is a remake of the Marathi movie, Sairat, which was released in 2016 and went on to become a massive hit. The movie tells the story of Parthavi (Janhvi Kapoor), the daughter of an affluent politician, and Madhukar (Ishaan Khattar), the son of a small-time restaurant owner. The two teenagers meet and fall in love with each other, much to the disapproval of Parthavi's family. The love story takes a dark turn as the couple faces numerous challenges and obstacles in their path.

Janhvi Kapoor, who made her debut with this film, delivers a commendable performance. She portrays the character of Parthavi with ease and grace, bringing out the vulnerability and strength of the character. Her chemistry with Ishaan Khattar is sizzling on screen, and the two make a convincing pair.

Ishaan Khattar, who had earlier made his debut with the film Beyond the Clouds, proves his acting prowess in Dhadak. He portrays the character of Madhukar with sincerity and sensitivity, making the audience root for him throughout the film.

Ashutosh Rana, who plays Parthavi's father, delivers a powerful performance, as always. His character is complex and multi-layered, and Rana does justice to it with his nuanced portrayal.

The movie is set against the backdrop of Rajasthan, and the beautiful locales are captured beautifully by the cinematographer, Vishnu Rao. The music score by Ajay-Atul is a standout feature of the film, with the title track and Zingaat being the most popular songs.

The direction by Shashank Khaitan is commendable, as he manages to bring out the various emotions and conflicts of the characters effectively. The screenplay is well-written, and the narrative keeps the audience engaged throughout.

Overall, Dhadak is a beautiful love story that explores the complexities of caste, class, and love in India. It is a poignant tale that leaves a lasting impact on the audience.
