Vikas is a young man who comes from a very poor family. His family has never been able to enjoy the good life due to their financial situation throughout life. Vikas makes his father a promise to attend university and eventually secure a good job in order to help support the both of them. While at university Vikas meets and falls in love with a young lady named Asha. During the course of their examinations, Vikas' father passes away, leaving Vikas feeling overwhelmed. Asha feels terrible as well, and arranges for her father to give Vikas a job. After Vikas proclaims his love for the man's daughter, the man tries to have Vikas killed.
