Watch Eyes Wide Shut

Eyes Wide Shut is a movie that came out in 1999. It is a drama film that was renowned director Stanley Kubrik’s last project. The movie is about a married couple who are living their daily lives. However the husband begins to participate in unusual sexual related endeavors. He does this out of curiosity and also because he is troubled by his wife openly flirting with a naval officer while at a social gathering. Out of Kubriks movies this was one of the least acclaimed but it has still remained a very good movie in many circles. For those who are into erotic dramas this will be a very good one to watch. Since it was made by Stanley Kubrik pure fans of his movies will like this film.

The movie Eyes Wide Shut begins with a physician and his wife living their daily lifestyle. They are a happily married couple who have a daughter. Things seem to be fine with them until they go to a social gathering. At the social gathering, the physician attends the event with his wife. While at the event his wife gets a little drunk and starts flirting with a naval officer. Shortly after this, he begins to have thoughts of his wife having sex with the naval officer. This troubles him quite a bit and as a result he begins to visit a prostitute. He also comes across a guy who goes to sex parties at a mansion on a regular basis. Once he finds out about this he decides to try it out and gets involved in the whole thing. He continues to attend the social gathering while his wife has limited knowledge of what he is doing. After a while he is exposed and banned from attending the gathering. He eventually snaps out of the phase he is going to and then confesses to his wife about what he did. Fortunately for him, his wife was understanding and didn’t get upset with him. In the end they go Christmas shopping and decide to resume their marriage life in peace.

This movie was a little long but it was still very well done. While the movie wasn’t as widely acclaimed as much as Kubrik’s past work it is still a quality movie. The story is intriguing along with decent pacing. It didn’t win any major awards but was done as well as his other work from the past. Those who enjoy drama movies and don’t mind erotic themes will like this movie and find it to be worth watching.
