Four Weddings and a Funeral is a British comedy starring Hugh Grant as Charles and Andie McDowell as Carrie. The film is directed by Mike Newell and is about the unspoken romantic connection between two people that keep running into each at weddings. Carrie and Charles have mutual friends and are each invited to their weddings. Each time the pair run into each other they have a romantic rendezvous. One of the weddings is that of Carrie and her fiance. At this point, Charles realizes that he does have feelings for Carrie and wants to express those to her. However, it appears Charles was a little too late; although they manage to have another fling. After this third wedding, the two meet again, however this time it is for a funeral of a mutual friend.

After the funeral Charles and his friends, excluding Carrie, realize the single life isn't all that it's cracked up to be. The friends are envious of the love that the other friends have found. Finally timing is perfect for Charles and Carrie, or is it?
