- 1 hr 27 min
Fun with Dick and Jane starts out with a couple enjoying the good life. Dick and Jane have a beautiful home, and two luxury cars. Than their lives are circumvented, Dick’s company goes bankrupt due to questionable business practices, and Dick is the scapegoat. Dick arrives home to give Jane the bad news, but Jane has some news of her own. She quit her job to spend more time with their son, now they are both unemployed. Dick tries to find another job as Vice President of another corporation, but he is seen as unemployable. Dick and Jane tried some lower-paying jobs, but they were fired from all of those. The bills are piling up, and foreclosure of their home and possessions is coming; Dick and Jane are desperate, and they are considering robbery as a way out of their financial distress. They start with a local convenience store, but Dick chickens out, and ends up with just a slurpee. However, time is running out, so they decide they must rob bigger jobs to save their home. As they progress through criminal activities they become more professional at it, and they are able to pay their bills, but a close call at what was to be their “last” job convinces them to quit. Then another event occurs, Dick is to be indicted for his role in the company downfall. As he is drinking at a local bar, he gets some information from the former CFO of the company. The President of Globodyne is going to get away with 400 million dollars. So Dick confronts him, and tricks McCallister into giving him a check, so Jane can forge the signature on a larger check. Dick and Jane call a news conference, and McCallister is forced to make an announcement giving all the 400 million back to the pension fund. This ends the movie on a happy note, because all the pensions are restored.
